Michelle and I wish to take the opportunity to thank you for designing and constructing the beautiful addition to our home which you have just completed. You have exceeded our expectations of designing a showroom and office space for our sculpture business, meeting the demands we laid out. Our clients and friends have been awed, and all agree that the space is indicative of an artist, combining the feel of an old warehouse garret, with that of a New England barn. The space is large, but not overbearing, and we are excited that the view corridor from the front garden to Burrard Inlet has been maintained When we were at the stage of selecting a contractor, we were drawn to API for several reasons. You were the only one to arrive at your interview on time; the only one to provide and extensive portfolio of past work; and you shared our love of heritage buildings. I contracted API Construction to build my new home in North Vancouver on a construction management contract, my house is now complete and I am extremely satisfied with the final product. Mark Ashcroft has a unique combination of skills as a construction manager. He has an excellent working knowledge of building construction, a very organized approach to scheduling, an effective and firm manner to deal with and motivate sub-trades and a very good eye for design and detail. He was very efficient in meetings and concentrated hard to get the job done with the least amount of work for me. He ensured that every sub-contract was tendered and then analyzed to obtain the best price from the most reliable sub-trade. API has a good stable of sub-trades who are loyal to them and this was very important to me to have good quality, reliable, trustworthy and efficient sub-trades. API's accounting and information systems were very helpful to make decisions based on current budgets and costs to date. Every cost was itemized and categorized to give me a level of comfort with the ongoing costs of the project. Linda was always vigilant in approving all of the invoices and I was given a monthly summary to approve all payments. I would recommend API Construction to build any size construction project.
